This is other people's work, collected rather than written. Laying out a Swing window with the managers the JDK ships is unpleasant enough that people wrote better ones, and by 2013 several of those were scattered across personal sites that were beginning to disappear. This gathers them into one repository that builds.
It holds Paul Buchheit's HtmlLayout, which lets you describe a layout in an HTML-like syntax rather than learning GridBagLayout — released in 1998 and licensed under the LGPL — and Jerry Huxtable's com.jhlabs.awt managers. Their licences and notices travel with them in the repository.
