What it covers
An introduction to Python for readers who already program: the language Guido van Rossum created in 1991, designed to be pleasant to use and readable at the same time; where to get it (on the author's much-loved Debian, one apt-get); and the interactive interpreter, which is where the tutorial spends its time, because being able to try a construct and watch it run is most of what makes the language fast to learn.
Where it sits
The series continues with blogging, bibliography handling and wxPython, each building something small and complete rather than demonstrating a feature.
